Toolkit by International Service for Human Rights (ISHR) aims to foster positive engagement between human rights defenders and business.

ISHR has published a manual for human rights defenders concerning business respect for human rights. ISHR is an independent, international non-governmental organization, which protects and promotes human rights by supporting human rights defenders and strengthening human rights systems.

The handbook consists of information about the relationship between business and human rights. Even though the handbook is made for human rights defenders, it is also useful for corporations when they assess the significance of human rights as part of their corporate social responsibility strategy.

KIOS is planning to arrange an international seminar on corporate social responsibility and human rights in Helsinki in May 2017. The relevance of business for the promotion of human rights has been recently acknowledged more widely. Therefore, a broader discussion between civil society, business, and authorities can contribute to finding new ways to promote respect for human rights.
