"Meeting together rekindles the fire of defending human rights –
it’s like coals of fire put together"
KIOS Uganda Partners’ Conference 2010
"Best Practices in Human Rights Work"
Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th May 2010
Nob View Hotel, Kampala
Uganda is one of the main focus countries of the KIOS strategy implemented since 2004. Currently Uganda has the largest number of KIOS grantees: altogether 12 organizations with 14 projects are supported by KIOS (February 2010). In May 2010 KIOS organized Partners Conference to bring together all its Ugandan partners to share best practices and learn from each other.
The conference of KIOS partners, the first of its kind in Uganda, gave possibilities for networking between the partners. The conference served as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices in their struggle for promoting and protecting human rights.
The theme for the conference was Best Practices in Human Rights Work.
The main objectives for the conference were:
- To bring together Ugandan partners of KIOS.
- To provide an opportunity for partners to share best practices and learn from each other.
- To stimulate and promote the creation of new alliances and partnerships in Uganda.
