Building a just world with corporate accountability?
Come to listen, how corporate accountability work contributes to the building of a more just world. KIOS organizes a panel discussion at the World Village Festival in Helsinki on Saturday 26th of May.
Local communities are often forgotten on the playground of businesses and economic interests although corporations, governments and civil societies wish to promote sustainable development and human rights.
Come to listen, what is the meaning of corporate accountability to Ugandan civil society and to the local communities? How about to the Finnish development finance company Finnfund?
How can cooperation between NGOs and businesses enhance corporate accountability, and how does the corporate accountability work of Finnfund and NGOs contribute to building a better world?
These topics are discussed by Gerald Kankya ja Salima Namusovya from Ugandan human rights organisations and Riikka Thomson from Finnish development finance company Finnfund. Lyydia Kilpi, an expert in corporate accountability, will moderate the discussion.
The panel discussion is held in English at Taiga stage at the World Village Festival in Helsinki. The World Village Festival is a free festival for the whole family, which is annually organized by Fingo, a Finnish NGO platform and an expert on global development.
